We absolutely love this projector. We bought it for our home theater and my husband has it projecting onto a 102" screen in a 12' x 18' room. The picture is amazing and we could not be happier. My husband is a techy, so we a surround sound, Direct TV, PS3, iPod station, computer, etc. hooked up to this projector. My 3 and 4 year old love watching movies on the big screen with their daddy.

I just upgraded from my old Dell mp3200 (ultra-portable business projector) to this one. The obvious goal here was to move to 1080p projection and streamline to just HDMI cables between all components. The Pro8200 does do that. I've been impressed so far, though I haven't really tested it thoroughly. Some people have complained about being able to see the color wheel at work -- if I really make an effort, I can see it -- but I could also see it with my old Dell. This is a silly critique, but it does kind of bug me -- the ViewSonic logo (bird) on the splash screen does not appear to be a pixel-pixel image!!?? So, it looks fuzzy/out of focus on the screen, which seems really silly to me. Everytime I start it up, I feel like I have to focus it. So, I just pull up the MENU and it's clear as day, confirming my focus setting has not changed. The projector does put out good light. Seems to keep up fine with BluRay. Overall I'm happy with it, although I expected a bit more than I'm getting... Read more

After two months of use, I feel I did not make a good choice. Horizontal movements are not smooth at all. It hurts the eyes, especially when watching sports programs and action movies. After buying, I found that it is a 24 frames per second projector instead of a 60fps one. Eco mode must be set every time you turn the projector on. The good things of the Pro 8200 you read from the manufacturer are true and plenty to consider, but the extremely annoying horizontal juddering or shaking effect must also be considered.

Really dissapointed with M2. After reading couple reviews on internet decided to purchase that.
Pros: - 1024x768 resolution
- HDMI\SD\USB connectors
- Tripod
- Small projector
Cons: - *Very* noisy, looks like there are 2 small fans rotating at crazy rpm. However, after 30 min testing, cold air was coming out from vents (aaxa should have put adjustable rpm fans there, like cpus have). It is so noisy that I can't watch movies with max volume on notebook.
- Huge power adapter. It is 5amps brick, larger than notebooks have.
- Tiny remote and you have to aim really carefully to make it work.
- Image quality\brightness is so-so, you really need to turn off *all* lights if you want to watch a movie.
- Really counter intuitive menu. For example you can navigate only with left\right buttons even when icons are one above another (up\down does not work). Combined with... Read more

Here's a quick review. I just got the projector in today, and we fiddled around with it for about half an hour. I will update this review accordingly, and will definitely be willing to answer any questions you guys have.
PROS:
The obvious pros include the things stated. 100 lumens made it so that we could still see the images, even with all the lights in the room.
The 1024x768 native resolution.
And the most important, VIDEOS:
1) I used this by hooking up our HD Camera, and it played really well. No problems, images came out very clear. We had the projector at least 10"-12" back from the wall, and images were still coming out clear.
2) I wanted to get this projector mainly to play videos, avis. I loaded the avis onto an SD card. More specifically, I loaded FOREIGN films, divx quality. I loaded .srt subtitles within the same folder as the movie. The projector played the subtitle along with the avi... Read more

I am in MOB station in Ft. Hood Tx. On the way to Iraq. Space is the most valuable commodity we have. After shopping for about 2 weeks I finally decided on this little projector for gaming and movie night on deployment. After opening the box this afternoon at about 1800 with the Tx afternoon sun shining through the windows at us I and about 5 other guys started watching 300 on the barracks wall. It wasn't perfect but we could see pretty good on a well lit room. The projector was about 4 or 5 feet from the wall making a picture about the same diagonal size. It was good enough for a bunch of army aviators to enjoy. As the sun crept down the size of our group grew to about 10 and Happy Gilmore was next. The picture was great. I can think of no downside to this purchase. It's convenient to carry and store, great picture and brighter than I expected. The sound is not what I bought it for, the speakers are weak but what did you expect? It's a lot to offer in a small package. I bought a good... Read more

BrilliantColor™ technology Color is one of the most important characteristics of a good projection system, and the latest BrilliantColor technology delivers stunning all-digital clarity with lifelike color, sharp graphics and outstanding video. The sophisticated 6-segment color wheel enhances the yellow color performance that is key to accurate and vivid color reproduction. With multi-color processing, colors are richer and more vibrant with exquisite and precise detail.
DLP Technology Advanced DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology allows you to experience crystal clear, razor-sharp and lifelike images with the same DLP technology that Hollywood relies on. For fast action, the response time is also on the order of 1,000 times faster than similiar LCD based projectors. And with no air filters to clean or change, the latest generation of DLP based projectors from ViewSonic offer amongst the lowest TCO (total cost of ownership) in the industry. Check out the TCO calculators at http://www.viewsonic.com/viewschool/dlp-tco-calculator/
DLP® 3D technology With support for TI´s DLP Link technology, you´ll have amazing 3D capabilities at your disposal. The projector´s embedded emitter function means all that´s required to unlock 3D capabilities is a pair of DLP Link compatible glasses, such as the optional ViewSonic PGD-150 active shutter glass kit.
Eco-mode saves money, power and helps the planet With only a slight 20% decrease in brightness, the ECO-mode function can extend the life of your lamp by almost 50% and up to 6,000 hours in some cases. Other benefits of ECO-mode operation include reduced power consumption, as well as less heat and audible noise output. It´s good for the environment and great for your budget. The ECO-mode function will definitely help lower your total cost of ownership (TCO).
New Slim Design At only 3.2 inches height and lightweight 5.7 pounds, it´s light and compact, making it ideal for mobility and portability.

This review is from: ViewSonic PJD5123 SVGA DLP Projector 120Hz/3D Ready, 2700 Lumens, 3000:1 DCR (Office Product)
I've only had my ViewSonic PJD5123 one day, which is a little premature for reviewing, but with only one review posted, I thought another would be helpful. I actually made my purchase on that review's recommendation, since I could find no others.
First, let me say that my purchase was largely price-driven. I figured I'd have to buy a used projector, but the low price Amazon charged was the hook that caused me to bite on this brand-new one. My second criterion was that it had to work with a Mac; it does! I did have to purchase an extra cable for my Macbook Pro unibody ($29.99 from Apple). I could have gotten a third party cable for much less (and may still do that for a backup), but the reviews on them were not as favorable as those on the Apple one.
So I took the plunge, even paying an extra $4 (Amazon Prime) to have it delivered in two days. It arrived on time and I found everything in the box as advertised. The written documentation is worthless,... Read more

The ViewSonic PJD5123 Projector is an effective and economical solution for movie viewing and PowerPoint presentations. Projecting from 25' it creates a bright 8' wide image. I connect it to a laptop with Bose Companion 2 Series II computer speakers creating an exceptional audio video experience. I use a Logitech wireless mouse to control presentations. You may need a case for the projector and possibly a longer video cable than the 6' cable provided. I am completely satisfied with the quality and performance of the projector and would recommend it to anyone in the market.

After shopping around and purchasing a few "cheap" projectors I realized that I needed to bight the bullet and buy something a bit more expensive. I did a ton of research and for my price point of around $300 I found this projector. I was a bit skeptical as I have had no luck with projectors recently and was nervous about throwing down so much money. Rest assured, this projector is worth it! I wanted a nice affordable movie projector for backyard movie nights with friends. Trying to find one that provided a great picture along with being affordable is no easy task. But this model is fantastic. I can't get over how crisp the picture is. And we use nothing but a white sheet pinned between two hammok posts. Even in a room with mid day sun the picture is still bright and clear. The fan is not too loud and the controls are very easy to work. My only concern is that finding the right connection for my macbook 5,1 unibody has been a hassle. We connected it to a cheap dvd player and it... Read more
