Going into this purchase I was not expecting much knowing this was a not a high end HD projector but then again it's a fifth of the cost of a decent hd projector. I have had it just about two weeks and have tested it in a variety of setups. I first connected it to an XBOX 360 using a third party vga cable. There were no issues with ghosting or poor resolution. The only complaint would be that the color of some of the maps on MW3 looked a little dark which I suspect is due to the cheap third party cable used to connect to the projector.
Next I hooked up a PS3 using a 25ft Blue Rigger Hdmi cable purchased here. MW3 looked fantastic with no issues with dark color on the maps which lead me to beleive the problem with the XBOX 360 was the cable and not the projector. I also tested serveral Disney BluRays on the PS3 which looked fantastic as well.
Lastly I connected the projector to a Roku LT also purchased here and it looked fantastic as well streaming Amazon Instant Video... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Works fine , but with a few flaws, December 2, 2011

Let me just say, for the money this is a good projector. The image is fine and the projector is light weight, has long life on the LED lamp, was very cheap and is from a reputable brand.

However, I had to return mine. If you were like me, wishing that because the PT105 has an HDMI port (unlike the previous PT100), that the image will be in HD, well my friend you are wrong. I connected my computer that has a 2GB graphics card through HDMI and it was barely readable. Nothing looks OK on it if it's not 800x600...It's frustrating. The icons and letters are huge at that "recommended" resolution. And If you try one more resolution up, you can barely see the letters.

The projector has 75 lumens, but it is very dim, at least I thought so. It was hard to see. I tried playing video games on it (fifa 12 to be more precise), and it was so hard to play because the movements on the dim screen are just too much for my eyes. Now the focus, is a bit tricky. Although it works... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Blown away with this projector, November 30, 2011
This review is from: Optoma PT105 75 Lumen Playtime LED Gaming Projector with HDMI (Office Product)
Only day 2 of using this Optoma PT105 projector and I was impressed--Maybe because I was not expecting too much on a projector that cost less than $200.

PROS:
The picture, color, and brightness (75LM) is good enough for my taste. The sound from the unit is not bad either being a tiny little speaker. Picture is very clear even at about 14 feet from the wall. Native resolution is 854x480 good enough (Not HD but DVD quality. DVD is 720x480). Simple to use even without reading the manual.

CONS:
No keystone adjustment (but for this price, I will use a taller stand) & No remote, so you cannot place it on a permanent mounted location.

Over all: I will recommend this product to my friends because of the Optima brand-DLP, the price (black Friday), and good enough performance for a new toy. Now I can do movie night at home with my family, not to mention my son is so exited to use it for his games.

I will do a follow up review after 6... Read more
